Wooop! Real Racing 3, the successor to one of the greatest, if not the greatest racing game on the App Store is coming to your iPhone and iPad on February 28th. If the trailers are any indication how good this game is going to be, then racing fans are in for a treat. The graphics? Gorgeous. Cars? The real deal. Also, check out the official Real Racing 3 Facebook page. You’ll notice that Turk Turklerrrr.. Donald Faison seems to be digging the game. And if a game is good enough for Turk, it sure as hell is good enough for me!

Rockstar Games has announced that GTA: Vice City will be available on the App Store in the near future. And much like the name suggests, the setting could be described as an over the top version of Miami Vice. GTA: Vice City was the follow-up to the highly praised GTA 3, the game that introduced the third dimension to the GTA series. GTA 3 is already available for you iPhone and iPad since quite some time as well as the mobile-only entry in the franchise, GTA: Chinatown Wars (which we loved in our review).

As a matter of fact, as of this writing, both GTA 3 and GTA: Chinatown Wars are on sale for $0.99! So if you’ve always wanted to see what the fuss with these games is all about, or if you want to re-live some of the fun you’ve had with those games in the past, now is the time to grab ‘em!

Listen up guys, with Real Racing 2 and Dead Space HD two of the most awesome games on the App Store are currently on sale! Dead Space HD dropped from $9.99 to $1.99 and Real Racing 2 dropped from $4.99 to $0.99. Both games are an incredible bargain at their current price tags. Heck, I even think they offer great value when they are not up for sale! I totally loved Dead Space in my review so go check it out if you are still in doubt! Also, have look at the trailers:

Dead Space is only on sale for the iPad, while the iPhone version remains at $6.99. With Real Racing 2, it’s the other way around: The price for the iPhone version is lowered to $0.99, whereas the iPad version will still set you back $6.99. Both games offer some impressive graphics and helped push what we thought was technically possible on the iOS platform to new heights. Therefore, I can only repeat myself: If you own either an iPhone or iPad and you’re into games (which you probably are, why on earth would you end up on TapArena otherwise?!) you should totally play those games!

Need For Speed: Most Wanted will be out this October for iPhone and iPad. The incredible good news about this: The geniuses at Firemonkeys, responsible for the Real Racing games, are the ones who develop Need For Speed: Most Wanted! So it’s almost needless to say that the trailer looks absolutely fantastic! On top of that, Need For Speed: Most Wanted has always been one of the most fan-loved entries of the series, so I’m hoping that we’ll get something really special here! Unfortunately, the trailer isn’t all that long and basically does not reveal anything else of interest. Like, how many cars will be in the game? What game modes will it offer? Will you be able to tune your car?

These are all important questions that could make or break the game. But like I said, Need For Speed: Most Wanted is developed by Firemonkeys, so I’m definitely giving them the benefit of the doubt!

If you own an iPhone or iPad and you’re into racing games, you’ve definitely heard of the Real Racing franchise. Not only are those amazing racing games, but the developer Firemonkeys (former Firemint, then merged with IronMonkey to form Firemonekys) always managed to push the visuals to new heights with each and every hardware update Apple released. 1080p output via HDMI? Check. Wireless Full-Screen gameplay via AirPlay the moment that feature was announced with iOS5? Check.

So is it surprising that the brand-new Real Racing 3 trailer will knock your socks off? It looks awesome! It even reminded me of the very first Need for Speed: Shift (the grown-up version for consoles and pc, not the iOS release!). Unfortunately, Firemonkeys didn’t also announce a release date besides a vague “2012″. But if the first two Real Racing games are any indication for the quality we should expect from Real Racing 3, get your iPhones and iPads ready for some seriously awesome racing action!

Supermono, the folks behind MiniSquadron and EpicWin, have shared some details of their upcoming top-down racing game Drive Forever. The concept behind Drive Forever sounds very interesting: You will not only be able to race in the game, but to create new race tracks yourself and share them with other players. Drive Forever will use these user created tracks and put them seamlessly together while you are playing the game – so you can… Drive Forever! Players will be able to rate these tracks, to make sure you will always drive on the best ones. But worry not, the game will also be playable offline – although obviously only with tracks you already downloaded.

Supermono describes the game as a “sort of a massively multiplayer OutRun-meets-SimCity, but set in the FUTURE.”

You will also be rewarded for both sides of the game. Drive Forever comes with loads of unlockables, bonuses and achievements. Your driving skills will be rewarded with new cars, paintworks and accessories. And if you built great tracks, you will get new buildings, themes and scenery. This will be determined by the number of people that drive your tracks and how well it’s rated.

Drive Forever is utilizing Supermono’s own graphics engine which they specifically built for iOS. And the games art design looks great and makes it really stand out compared to other top-down racers. It reminds me of Tron, although with a very modern touch to it.

So when is it coming out? According to Supermono they are “deep into production right now, we’re aiming to finish in the next 2-3 months”. So if everything goes well, Drive Forever should hit the App Store sometime this summer.

Gameloft’s official game to accompany Fast Five the Movie is coming this Thursday, April 28. While the last trailer left me wondering whether I was looking at a mobile version of Disney’s Split/Second, this trailer has a strong Burnout vibe going (and some of the scenes remind me of NFS: Underground – so yeah, this is definitely a Gameloft game). And it actually looks like a lot of fun. The trailer reveals that it will offer 10 player local and online multiplayer – which is almost always a great addition to any racing game. Let’s find out later this week how good it really is.

Besides the updated controls you will also find new car paint jobs, new challenges and various improvements and bug fixes. We liked Death Rally a lot in our review and Remedy also just recently lowered the price to $2.99 and it’s a universal app – what more can you ask for?

Firemint has just released an update for Real Racing 2 HD that, if you run it on iPad 2, enables full 1080p output through Apple’s digital AV adapter. Once you hook your iPad 2 up to your HDTV, it will function as secondary display and steering wheel. You can can connect and disconnect your iPad 2 from the TV at any time, even mid-race, without trouble. Firemint has also put up a FAQ, in case something is not clear.

It’s great to see developers are taking advantage of the new hardware – especially if the result is as beautiful and impressive as with Real Racing 2 HD.

Death Rally, Remedy’s excellent fun racer for which we only had good words in our review, is already seeing a price drop from $3.99 to $2.99. On top of that the first update is also available for download. The update includes:

• A new car
• A new challenge mode
• 2 new weapons

Death Rally was already a great game before the update and well worth the money – so with the added content and the price drop, downloading this game for your iPhone or iPad (the game comes as universal app) should be a no-brainer if you like the genre. However, one feature that I’m sure would be a blast in Death Rally is multiplayer. Just think of Mario Kart: Blowing up friends in a racing game just before the finish line is pretty much priceless. And looking at the support Remedy is putting into Death Rally, hoping for a multiplayer mode in the near future doesn’t seem unrealistic.
