Infinity Blade Multiplayer Update Coming To iOS Thursday, May 19th

infinity blade header Infinity Blade Multiplayer Update Coming To iOS Thursday, May 19th

Epic Games has announced that Infinity Blade will get a massive content pack called “Infinity Blade: Arena”. One of the most anticipated features of said content pack is without a doubt the addition of a multiplayer mode. Playing with friends is always great fun, and slaying them online on your iPhone or iPad in a fair sword fight sounds very promising. One of you will be playing as a knight while the other will be controlling one of Infinity Blade’s Titans. The twist will be that Titans can speed up and slow down their attacks. That’s a clever gameplay variation to make sure you can’t just depend on the skills you learned in the singleplayer campaign – you will have to adapt.

Besides the one vs one multiplayer, “Infinity Blade: Arena” will also add a survivor mode in which the game throws an endless amount of Titans at you to see how far you can go. Besides these new game modes, the update will also bring new items, new holiday helms, new achievements and a Facebook integration that allows you to export your character for your profile. After “The Deathless Kings” this is yet again a massive update and should keep you busy for quite a while!

Imaginary Range – A Pretty Cool Experiment By Square Enix

imaginary range header Imaginary Range A Pretty Cool Experiment By Square Enix

imaginary range 2 Imaginary Range A Pretty Cool Experiment By Square EnixWith Imaginary Range, Square Enix has released an interactive manga on the App Store. At first I was a bit puzzled to find out Square’s mysterious new project is basically a manga, but if you think about it for a second, it’s actually a great match. After all, Square Enix is also behind the epic stories in the Final Fantasy series. And lately, Final Fantasy focused more and more on a cinematic story.

So, what is Imaginary Range? I’d say “interactive manga” describes it quite well. It’s basically a manga with story related mini games that you will have to complete to keep the story going. The mini games are quite fun and there’s a bunch of them to make sure it doesn’t feel too repetitive. You’ll have to guide missiles to hit weak spots on an enemy, clear levels with a laser or find special items in a picture. Imaginary Range starts in the middle of an action sequence and you’ll be left wondering what the heck is going there. The story is interesting and unfolds nicely.

On top of all of that, it’s free! If I had to put down a bet, I’d say Square released it for free to make people familiar with the concept and later on add In-App Purchases for new issues, or offer them as separate apps. All in all, this is a pretty cool app if you’re into mangas. And if not, you might want to give it a try anyway, even if it’s just to see how Square tries to evolve the medium.

Castlerama – A Free Unreal Engine Tech Demo For iOS

Remember Epic Citadel, the Unreal Engine tech demo from Epic Games themselves? Well, the guys at Codenrama thought they should pull something similar off and call it “Castlerama“. It’s utilizing Epic’s Unreal Engine and is basically an empty level that’s free for you to explore. If you like seeing what your iOS device is capable of, go and check it out – it’s free after all!

Have in mind that it requires at least an iPhone 3GS, 3rd Gen iPod Touch or iPad to run. And in case it won’t start right after you downloaded it, the devs recommend to just restart the device.

Order & Chaos Online – Details On Its First Update

order chaos online header small Order & Chaos Online Details On Its First Update

In the official “Order & Chaos Online” forums, Gameloft has just spilled some details on the first update for their iPhone and iPad MMO. That’s some great news, especially since Gameloft doesn’t have the reputation to keep on supporting their games once they’re released. This fact has left quite a few people wondering what will happen to “Order & Chaos Online” – since subscription based MMOs obviously need to get some fresh content on a regular basis, otherwise there’s little to keep players coming back for more.

While there’s no word on when the update will be out, this is the overview of its content:

• New quests will be added in the last two high-level regions
• A server migration system will be implemented, allowing you to change your server
• The cost needed to teleport from one city to another will be adjusted
• The amount of money lost upon dying will be adjusted
• All cemeteries will become non-Player-versus-Player areas (non-PvP), meaning no player will be able to attack another one in a cemetery
• A teleport will be added in Greenmont
• Additional content and several bug fixes will also be implemented…

Bumpy Road Release Date Confirmed – Get Ready For May 19th

Simogo has just announced via their official Twitter account that Bumpy Road will be released on May 19th. Bumpy Road is a unique platformer in which you control a car by morphing the road its driving on. And we liked it a lot in our preview.

The guys at Simogo have spent the last couple of weeks tweaking every last bit of the game to make sure it runs as smooth as possible. (However, our preview built felt already incredibly polished, so this “bug fixing” must be a Swedish way of saying “We had some holidays”). Kidding aside, finally having a release date for Bumpy Road is great and while there’s no word on the price yet, we do know that it’s coming as universal app.
